Round two of the Guernsey Velo Club Downhill series Sponsored by Adventure Cycles took place at Talbot Valley and with new parts added with a steep uphill climb straight into an off camber corner all added to the challenge and caught out a few of the riders.
34 riders took to the start line with the best run of two being taken as the final time, the Advanced class was won by John Mapley in 57.54, 2nd Dan Owen in 58.52 and completing the podium in 3rd Gary Robert with a time of 59.58
The Senior Class was won by Mike Toll in a time of 59.27 with a close battle for 2nd place with three riders all within in the same second, Ryan Duquemin taking 2nd in 1.04.19, Jamie Rive with 1.04.42 in third and 4th Jason Niles in 1.04.84
Masters Class was won by Pete Miller in 1.07.10 with Gary Greenway in 2nd with 1.11.27 and Marcus Bowtle 3rd in 1.28.99.
Veteran class was won by Nick Gregg in 1.14.10 and 2nd Kevin Mechem 1.16.60. Juniors was won by Joe Collenette in 1.02.88 with Ben Mills in second with 1.05.04 and Josh Ballard 3rd with 1.07.74
Juvenile Class was won by the all rounder Brad Vaudin in 1.04.94, 2nd was Will le Ray in 1.24.32 and Tom Stables in third in 1.28.54.
Next for the downhillers is the unique event an urban downhill at Castle Cornet on Sunday 26th April starting at 3.30pm.
